Tournament Structure

The 2023 Women's World Cup run from July 20 through August 20. The tournaments consist of a group stage, with 32 teams divided into 8 groups lettered A through H, followed by a knockout stage. During the group stage, teams are divided into groups of 4 and play round-robin style until each team has played each other team in their group. Teams are awarded 3 points for each win and 1 point for each draw during group play, and are ranked based on their point total. Ties in the group ranking are decided by who has scored more goals, followed by head-to-head results. The top two teams from each group advance to the knockout stage, which is a single elimination bracket. During the knockout stage, matches cannot end in a draw and will be decided with extra time or a penaly shootout if needed.

Scoring

Bracket scoring for the group stage is as follows, determined by the final standings after all group matches:

1 point for each team placed in the right spot in the final group standings
3 points for each team picked to advance to the knockout round, no matter where they were placed
1 bonus point for choosing the right winner of each group
2 bonus points for choosing the exact final standings of each group

104 for the whole group stage

Scoring for the knockout stage is as follows:

1 point for each time placed in the right spot in each knockout round match
3 points for each team picked to advance to each knockout round, no matter where they were placed
1 point for each team picked to advance to the third place match, no matter where they were placed
1 bonus point for choosing the both teams in a match exactly right

74 for the whole group stage

Scoring for the final standings is as follows:

4 points for picking the gold medal winner
2 points for picking the silver medal winner
1 points for picking the bronze medal winner
